Our Holiday Open House

The Antique Row Business District proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary on Nov. 19, 20, and 21 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with Holiday Open Houses at our members’ shops. We are 35 members strong and growing. Our location stretches from 200 to 2000 South Broadway plus 25 and 27 East Dakota in a historically significant area of early Denver.

At the turn of the century, this area was the first shopping district away from downtown Denver. Ironically, we are still celebrating that time period! At one time both the Ford Motor Company and Gates Rubber Company were located at 900 South Broadway.

Today this area is filled with Denver’s most outstanding antique shops. Did you know?

1. There are over 200 dealers located on these blocks

2. Don Gallagher is one of the best book dealers in the nation.

3. Jay Azarri is expanding his shop and his inventory of oriental rugs

4. Three of our dealers travel regularly to England to bring back the very best.

5. Brooklyn’s Antiques regularly imports furniture from Europe

6. John Boulware is a nationally known American folk art dealer.

7. Glass roots and Hooked on glass both have an amazing collection of Depression era glassware.

8. Rhinestone pins are very big this year — don’t miss the collections at Somewhere in Time and The Treasured Scarab

9. Mario Rivoli at Finders Keepers specializes in Bakelite jewelry and Diane Hoffman at Turn of the Century both are nationally known dealers with outstanding collections.

10. Many of our dealers carry American furniture, silver and jewelry from Denver estates.

Buying an antique gift for the holidays is a unique experience. It is a one of a kind gift, it is better craftsmanship, and it is a thoughtful statement.

All of our dealers will be decorated for the holiday and many will offer refreshments. Start your holiday season off with a journey into Denver’s past. We are a great alternative to the shopping malls and we have plenty of free parking.
