19th century Nebraska

“Antelope Hunting in the West,” wood engraving by William de la Montagne Cary, published in Harper’s Weekly, May 23, 1874. Part of the 19th Century Images of Nebraska exhibition at the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney. The exhibition is on display through Aug. 17.

Happy Anniversary

In 1968, John and Annette Ostrom bought a 5,000-square foot building in Lexington and opened Bargain John’s Antiques. The mission was — and remains — summed up in one word, “quality.”

The family-owned and operated enterprise remains committed to that mission, appreciative of the folks they’ve done business with through the years.

On Bargain John’s Antiques website (http://bargainjohn.com) it states:

“We want to thank all of you who have allowed us to assist you with your antique needs over the past 40 years. We thoroughly enjoy buying and selling antiques and we have been blessed to meet so many very unique and special people over the years.”

For more information, call 308-324-4576 or email antiques@bargainjohn.com.
